Payroll

Payroll refers to the process by which employees receive their salary. Functions involve balancing and reconciling payroll data and depositing and reporting taxes. ... The payroll department delivers payroll checks, maintains compliance with tax laws, records paperwork for new hires and edits existing employee files.

One of the most important tasks thus is processing of their payroll. Employees need to be able to rely on being paid on a consistent basis without delays. Irrespective of the size of the organisation, payroll plays a huge role in maintaining the morale of employees to the financial stability of the company

The first and most important goal of any payroll system is efficiency. Efficient payroll systems save time and money by ensuring that paychecks go out on time in the correct amounts each pay period. Once the system is set up, many parts can be automated, to reduce errors and delays.

The amazing team behind these services

I am a qualified professional accountant registered with the South African Institute of Professional Accountants -SAIPA. I was previously employed by S.A.R.S as a business/company assessor from 1983 to 1997 where I gained invaluable tax knowledge. The inside knowledge gained there gave me a good advantage in the tax industry. I obtained my Unisa B-comm degree in accounting in April 1993 . I mainly deal with the company financials and taxation and deal with clients accounting and taxation needs. I endeavour to be of assistance to our clients on as broad as base as possible. Our practice has grown because of the good level of service that we provide and pride ourself in our good name – what we promise we deliver.

I am a registered tax practitioner with the South African institute of Tax Practitioners - SAIT. I gained my broad tax knowledge when I worked at SARS as tax and business assessor from 1983 to 1996 where we were expected to do extensive training in tax. I obtained my NQF Level 6 certificate in Taxation through Unisa. I assist our individual and business tax clients with their tax returns, tax clearances and deal with the objections and appeals against assessments.
I started with Astrotax, in 2001 after I left school and was uncertain of the direction I wanted to go. After taking time to decide, I started with my BCOM Degree part time, and currently I am still in the process of completing my BCOM Degree in accounting. I am a registered Tax Practitioner with SAIT. I mainly deal with the payroll for clients, and bookkeeping and processing of monthly accounts, up to trail balance. Process and file all statutory returns statutory returns VAT, PAYE, EMP501 and IRP5/IT3A .
Payroll is one of the most important aspects of business. It affects employee morale and reflects a business's financial stability and reputation. Human Resources collects and enters employees' data for payroll purposes, and Accounting completes the calculations for taxes, wages and benefits.
